UX Designer Sr


Brief Summary

                            Senior UX Designer

This individual will be responsible for driving product success through improving the usability of company’s Member Communications and Digital Assistive environments in collaboration with other Chief Design Office (CDO) design teams, Product Management and Engineering. They will also thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, paired with clear communication and team collaboration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for product design areas including mobile and dot.com user interfaces, interaction design, user testing, and member-facing experiences for company products. This involves application of HCD best practices and tools to translate user needs, business objectives, and leveraging of UX/UI design into world-class desirable, valuable, feasible user experiences.
•	Create journey maps, click paths, user flows, detailed wireframes, and interactive, responsive prototypes to effectively communicate the user experience, user interface elements, and deliver user test validation.
•	Work closely with product management to validate requirements, and company's Design Language System (DLS) to create formal UX assets and documentation.
•	Collaborate in usability reviews of applications and produce artifacts of varying fidelity and prototypes for online usability tests (Userzoom.com, etc.).
•	Work with Product Management to define the user model and interface for new and updated mobile and dot.com features and functionality.
•	Lead efforts to understand user needs leveraging heuristic reviews, web analytics and competitor evaluations to create forward-looking, usable, and best-in-class new products. 
•	Develop and present user experience recommendations to stakeholders.
•	Represent and advocate for the user-centered perspective and serve as a resource throughout the organization by answering questions, facilitating decisions, sharing opinions and perspectives and suggesting new and innovative ideas.
•	Design and drive implementation of new user-interfaces and improve the customer experience.
•	Work with development teams to ensure that the solution is accurately translated.
•	Maintain an up-to-date understanding of new technologies and best practices in mobile and dot.com navigation, browsers, information architecture and usability.
•	Drive and collaborate with DLS teams to produce and maintain standards in Pattern and Component Libraries.
•	Able to work independently and in teams.
•	Able to organize and prioritize work; manage projects from brief to delivery.
•	Able to work on multiple projects and consistently deliver work on deadline.
•	Able to manage personal time and attention.
•	Experience managing to multiple perspectives; desire to understand other people’s passions, experiences, and feelings.
•	5-7+ years of solid, on-the-job experience as a Researcher, Interaction or UX Designer delivering eCommerce and/or complex transactional mobile and web-based experiences.
•	Candidates must be versed in user-centered design methods and techniques, with proven ability to understand target users and deliver appropriate experiences.
•	Must understand design constraints such as browser capabilities, media types, platform differences, and operating systems.
•	Experience designing UIs for mobile and email applications (iOS, Android, Google, etc.).
•	Quick learner with exceptional organizational and prioritization skills to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously.
•	Highly motivated, engaging, able to work effectively within a team environment, and will stretch to deliver results on time.
•	Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, management skills with a strong attention to detail.
•	Understanding of User Testing methods, tools and techniques.
•	Understanding of test methodologies such as card sorting, A/B, charrettes, facilitated brainstorming, moderated focus groups, heuristic evaluation, 1:1 interviews, participatory design sessions, web-based surveys etc.
•	Demonstrated expertise of working fluently in standard applications (for Mac), including Adobe CS, Sketch (including Measure, PDF Export, Stark plug-ins), InVision, MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, etc. 
•	Experience in and practice of ADA, 508, and W3C (AA) compliance standards and best practices
•	Bachelor's degree required in design-related discipline: Interaction, Information or Interface design; HCI; Design Planning; Graphic Design; or Communications; Computer Science
•	Experience managing multiple expectations and/or leading cross-discipline team(s)
•	Experience using responsive frameworks and mobile view-ports
•	Familiarity with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, etc. for prototyping, etc.
